1. Light Traps (Safer to beneficial insects):

These are highly effective, very efficient visual traps for mass trapping and control of adult moths of various species on all crops, fruits, flowers and plantations. In order to have mass control on pests; avoid usage of chemical inputs, resurgence of pests, residue on crops, sudden outbreak of secondary pests and environmental problems; the usage of light traps id highly advisable.
Through technical collaboration with NCIPM, ICAR (New Delhi); we have designed a unique light trap which on one hand captures the pest insects in large numbers and on the other hand allows the friendly insects or natural enemies to escape the trapping system thus inducing biological control of pest insect larvae. These light traps come with the following advantages:

  • Reduces the pest insect’s population.
  • Reduces usage of chemical inputs.
  • Durable and ideal for individual or mass usage.
  • Maintains the balance of eco system.
  • Each light trap covers an area of 1 hectare.
  • Very effective even during rains.

These light traps control various pest insects such as Stem borers, Pod borers, Loopers, Semi Loopers, White Grub, Pyrilla, Grasshoppers, Cutworm, Beetles, Shoot borers, Crickets…etc.. on a number of crops, fruits, flowers, vegetables and plantations.

2. Combo Traps:

These are highly effective, very efficient visual traps for mass trapping and control of adult beetles and moths of various species on Sugar Cane and other crops, fruits, flowers and plantations. In order to have mass control on pests; avoid usage of chemical inputs, resurgence of pests, residue on crops, sudden outbreak of secondary pests and environmental problems; the usage of light traps id highly advisable.
Designed and developed by the IISR, Lucknow, the Combo traps are being manufactured and promoted by Fine Trap India. These are particularly designed for control of pests like White Grub, Early shoot borer, Stem borer, Pyrilla in sugar cane. These are dual action traps wherein the light attracts the adult beetles of white grub and other moths during the dusk and pheromone attracts 24×7. These traps perform round the clock to provide continuous action over the pest insects. Early and long term application of these devices can prove a boon to the farmers and growers.

3.Farm Guard:

A relatively untouched segment of the IPM technique wherein the parasitoids or the bio control agents are reared, mass multiplied in the field conditions. These parasitoids feed upon the host larvae of pest insects and induce biological and mass control of eggs and larvae. This in turn keeps the population of pest insects under control. A very simple and easy to maintain device; it can be directly used by the farmers.
The major advantages of the Farm Guard are:

  • The parasitic wasps multiply in numbers while destroying the insect pest’s larvae.
  • Reduces the damages caused by pests.
  • On site rearing of parasitoids.
  • Readily available food source for survival of parasitic wasps.
  • Provides alternative oviposition site for parasitic wasps.
  • Bio diversity is maintained.
  • Helps in restoration of eco system.
4.Tea Mosquito Trap:

Specially designed and developed to attract and capture the tea mosquito bug (helopelitis); the Tea Mosquito Bug Trap has proved to be effective since inception. It is a sticky trap wherein the scent of female helopelitis is used to attract and capture the male of the same species. The male on getting attracted towards the scent then gets stuck on the sticky glue applied on the plate. Ideally around 15-18 traps can provide a good control over the multiplication of helopelitis in an area of one hectare. It provides an effective and economic solution against the use of expensive and hazardous chemicals coupled with long man hours and labour costs. Early and substantial application of these traps provide the following results:

  • Creates considerable attraction among the male helopelitis and captures in good numbers.
  • Provides effective control over the population and further breeding of the species.
  • Provides control throughout the day and during any time of the year based on the availability of pest in the estates.
  • Assists in improving the yield.
  • Early application could assist in avoiding usage of hazardous and expensive chemicals.
  • The lure is invented and tested by UPASI- Tea Research Foundation.
  • The lure needs to be replaced in 8-10 days.
  • The efficacy of the traps is enhanced under favourable weather conditions and availability of substantial population of pests.
  • The sticky trap can also be used to control insects like Thrips, Green flies, Aphids, etc.
5.Light Trap (For Tea Estate):

These are highly effective, very efficient visual traps for mass trapping and control of adult moths of various species on all tea and other plantations. In order to have mass control on pests; avoid usage of chemical inputs, resurgence of pests, residue on crops, sudden outbreak of secondary pests and environmental problems; the usage of light traps is highly advisable.
We have designed a unique light trap which captures the pest insects in large numbers inducing biological control of pest insect larvae. These light traps come with the following advantages:

These light traps control various pest insects such as Looper moths, Red Slug moths, Thrips, Jassids,termites in tea and other plantations.

6.Soil Testing Kit/ Soil Health Card:

A useful and farmer friendly kit provided by the IARI, (I.C.A.R) New Delhi. The kit can assist the farmer in maintaining the soil health by suggesting appropriate inputs before and after a cropping season. It facilitates proper checking of various parameters in the soil and generate a report for the farmers.
The salient features are as follows:

  • Provision of STFR kit with improved technology.
  • Can check 14 parameters of the soil and suggest proper nourishment in the identified deficiency.
  • Can provide precise ingredient for soil nourishment with respect to the crop planned.
  • Transmits the results online through messages to the farmers.
  • Soil health cards can be issued to the individual farmer and can be updated from time to time.
  • Can assist in generating employment among the youth.
  • Can be procured under various applicable employment schemes.
7.Pheromone Traps:

These are simple traps designed to control the targeted pest insect population by trapping them using pheromones. These traps provide round the clock control over the targeted pest insects. An economical and durable unit of pheromone trap uses the lure or pheromone of the targeted pest to attract the adult beetles or moths and trap them.The lure can be changed as per the availability and intensity of the pest insect population and activity.
The Pheromone traps can provide control over the White Grub beetles, Shoot Borers, Pyrilla and other insects in Sugar Cane.

8.Sticky Traps:

These traps are simple and easy to use devices for attracting and trapping of small pest insects like the Jassids, Thrips, Aphids, White Flies etc.
A sticky glue is applied on a plate and hung in the field. The insects while flying come in contact with the glue and stick on the plate thereby providing control over the population throughout the day.
It is a simple and reusable device and can be adopted on a large scale for effective control.
It is durable and has a long life. The plate can be cleaned when full of insects and a fresh coat of glue can be applied for further use.

9.Moisture Indicator:

Manufactured and promoted by FTI based on the technology transfer by Sugarcane Breeding Institute (ICAR), Coimbatore; the moisture indicator is a very handy and portable device useful for the farmers and planters to identify the moisture content in the soil. The results can be obtained instantly with the various colour indicators flashed by light signals on the device. The colour indicators inform the levels of moisture and suggest the necessity and proportion of water to be provided in the fields.
The indications can be drawn by the farmers themselves on the field as the indicators are self explanatory and suggestive.
